So, I'm getting married in May and I keep having these "wedding nightmares." They have been becoming less scary as we actually have gotten a great amount done within the last week as far as planning goes. I began writing them down at my last job (which I have liberated myself from) and since then have had two more. I plan to put them all up on here in one big post so one could potentially read all of them at once (or skip over them all at once, whichever you fancy).
My mom used to tell me all the time that my life is not "normal." Since meeting my fiance, it has become substantially more "normal" or less "crazy crap happening all the time"-ish. I know, this is boring. I just wanted a good intro before I really got the ball rolling. I have been preparing myself to post these unusual stories on this blog but have yet to actually HAVE an unusual story. Honestly, I think I gave myself too much credit when I signed up for this. I think I thought too highly of myself and my weirdness. Turns out I'm just as boring as the rest of the Fargonians up here. I think it's the flat landscape. On a clear day, if you stand on top of a building (since there are no hills here you'd have to stand on someting man-made) you can see a good 20 miles at least. And it looks a lot like this...
Ahhh it won't let me align my text left anymore!! I'm a n00b. Grrrr. =) Well, except for winters, where the scenery around here is a lot more like this....
Okay so it's usually not THAT bad but this winter the snow drifts were about four feet high. Yikes! Not to mention now we're talking floods AGAIN. I hate being evacuated. It's so frustrating! I think this year I'll be sure to pack an away bag to make sure I have enough clothing/stuff for at least a week. I thought we were only going to be evacuated for a couple days. No such luck! I ended up staying with my sister for a week and that was the trip I discovered I am allergic to cats now. Last year it flooded REALLY bad around here...check out this website for some pics of last year's flood. http://rialeephotography.com/blog/2009/03/26/red-river-valley-flood-2009/
You'll notice that one of the pictures has a bridge (actually it's two bridges) with water right up to the very bottom. The land, when it's not flooded, is actually probably a good 50 feet down from the bridge and the river is supposed to be a good 50 feet at least from the bridge. That is a lot of water! We live just about four blocks from the river so I'm not surprised we got evacuated when the river rose that much. Too bad no one around here thinks a permanent dam is a good idea...wtf? Ugh. So every year, college students get the ceremonial couple days off to go sandbagging. And yes, it has actually made national news. I bet we will again this year...we have a lot of snow around here and it has been melting and raining like nobody's business! More on that to come as it unfolds.
Have you ever tried the cheesy enchilada and sour cream Doritos? Sunmart was having a 2/$4 deal so we grabbed a bag of those and a bag of the blazin' buffalo ranch ones. Two flavors we have never tried! I love it when they have Dorito sales. =)
Oh NOW it will let me realign it. For heaven's sake!!Wedding planning is going well. Like, REALLY well. Oh, we have a website!! Check it out....

We are constantly making updates and I JUST remembered that we finalized the menu so I gotta go fix that now too.
