Birthday Insanity

Howdy ho, neighbor Joe.

Okay so it's two in the morning and it has been five days since my birthday but I feel bad, not putting it up on here...I think it's because I'm planning on letting friends and family know I have this blog so they can keep up with us wherever we go. I tried that once...I was younger and more immature.

Anyway.

So I slept not-at-all on Wednesday night (April 21) and realized at about 9:30am on the 22nd that I was EXHAUSTED and that I was going to have a hard darn time staying awake all day. So we head off to Walmart at 10:30am because I needed tummy pills to have a good day and then we head to Great Clips to get Trygve a hair cut...he needed one too!

I sat in the lounge, flipped through an "OK!" magazine and figured out through the closed captions on the tv that Paula Deen is a southern gal. I don't watch tv and I usually don't watch cooking shows but I think the district manager was there during our time and I really think she wanted to watch the cooking channel. So there we were, me in my jeans and tank top and the district manager in her suit and awesome hair (like ya do), trying to pretend we didn't know each other was there. She even moved a chair down as soon as the "other" side of the waiting room was open (there were eight chairs in all). I noticed that there was a bright blue sweatshirt nicely hooked on the coat hangers and I also noticed there was a jean jacket thrown over a chair. I noticed that Great Clips charges a hefty $75 for a perm. I noticed that the district manager had a very unfortunate face for the body she was toting around. I also noticed that the manager was under pressure from the district manager so she was picking on one of the shift leaders. *sigh* Go figure. Trygve had a girl who had spent the last five minutes with the customer she had before us talking about her upcoming wedding. Guess what she talked about with Trygve? That's right, her upcoming wedding. And I thought I was repetitive...

A woman in her 60s walked up to the counter to pay for her haircut and once she was done, she headed over to the area where the coat and sweatshirt were. A young man also had just finished his haircut and was heading in the same direction. To my complete surprise, the woman picked up the jean jacket and the man grabbed the sweatshirt. I felt like the world was backwards for those few seconds until I accepted that this town is fricken weird. Trygve finished his haircut and off we went to the hair salon for moi.

I had the pleasure of walking into the beautiful boutique and being completely impressed at their design. Their colors were aquamarine and brown and they decorated in a very homey feeling. Also, the receptionist offered me refreshments and I got to sit in a wonderfully comfortable loveseat with Trygve until they were ready for me. My stylist's name began with a K and I'm sure I can find her card in my wallet (just not right at this second). She was wonderful. I sat in the chair and she pulled out my ponytail to let the rest of my hair dry. Then she went to mix up the highlighting dye and I sat in the chair awkwardly for about 10 minutes. She came back, we talked, she worked on putting "foils" in my hair. It was fun to watch! I thought to myself, "now if only I had eyes in the back of my head and another set of hands, I could do this myself!" I sat with the alien foils for about 10 minutes for "processing" then I had to use the restroom so I popped in there and I was not at all surprised to find it was GORGEOUS and I'm so sad that I have JUST NOW found it. Then I got a rinse, a shampoo, a toner, a conditioner and a GREAT head massage and I felt like falling asleep (keep in mind I was totally exhausted at the time) and then she gave me a haircut and a "beach wave" hairstyle for my birthday. It was the best time I have ever had at pretty much anywhere and I really enjoyed it. Sorry there wasn't a fun story to go with it. :)

We headed to Paradiso's and I had my free lunch with Trygve, sitting in the sunlight and admiring my awesome hair. Talk about a confidence booster!! We went home and I took a nap (and several pics of my new hair) and then I needed to get ready for bachelorette party time!

We were to wear black as the theme of the party was "Put A Ring On It" due to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" song and we went on a scavenger hunt. Phase one consisted of 7 things we had to do as a group at The Hub during ladies night and we had to have photographic evidence to check it off the list. Phase two took place at all different bars on Broadway and it consisted of another 7 things we had to do as a group and take pictures of. If we accomplished all 14 things, I had to do 3 things by myself. I think I had 7 drinks altogether and I had a few powerful shots as well but I never did feel buzzed or tipsy (although I had loosened up by the end of the night), which I'm assuming is due to the recent exercise I've been getting. I got to wear a pretty tiara with a veil attached and also a lei so that was really fun. All the girls who attended wore black and got leid (HA!). We had a wonderful time and I can probably post pics with details on my next post as far as what we had to do goes....I don't remember all of them right now.

This weekend I'll be going down to the Cities to get some stuff done (rabbit show and shopping with Mom!) so I should have some fun pics and stories when I get back...Mom and I bring out the crazy  fun sides of each other...kinda like Dani and I. =]

The ladies upstairs should be taking finals this week and hopefully they will be moving out this coming weekend (buahahhah)...Trygve had an argument with one of them at the door tonight. I overheard her ask him to keep it down and he retorted (to my surprise) with a request that they stop stomping upstairs and locking both locks during the day and to please turn off the entryway light when they are done and she said something like "you don't have to be rude about it, you can just talk to us if you have a problem!" and he was like "good luck on finals" lol. We HAVE talked to you! We have talked to you several times about your loudness and your stomping. No, we didn't talk to them about the lock thing or the light thing (it doesn't bother me at all) but the passive-agressiveness of these young ladies has gotten under Trygve's skin. They are so hypocritical...but young people are (yes, that includes me). I guess if they had a problem with us turning off the outside light, they should have come down and talked to us instead of shouting "MOTHER F%#*@(" and stomping so hard on their living room floor that our ceiling starting to lose pieces...then they left a sticky note that said "please leave on!" on that light and I'm like good grief. We are ready to move out of this area as soon as we get a chance. I do not want to deal with them anymore. So yes, Trygve got in a spiff with one of them and now I'm just hoping nothing happens and they move out and we can have our house back for one more month before we have to go.

I have 76 coasters done and I think I should be done with 150 of them in the next week. I don't know if I will need 50 more or not...I think I"ll wait to see how many people RSVP before I make more than that. So far we have 30 people coming! Yay!! Ha ha ha.

Trygve and I had a great day today. We booked our condo for our honeymoon in Hawaii and we are really excited about it!

Our Honeymoon Condo!

I paid for Trygve's wedding ring today (whoopee!!) and we apparently are getting a pair of personalized champagne flutes for free because of this so good for us! Also, we got me three new tops for Hawaii and my favorite perfume for $60 off! AND I got a cultured pearl necklace and earring set from Macy's for $20!!! AND AND I got the bridesmaid gifts today by finding necklace, earring and bracelet sets for them from Sears! There were two here in Fargo and one in Grand Forks and one in St. Cloud so that is great that they will be mailing the two others to me this week! I also got my other headpiece ordered (they apparently were backordered on the one I wanted so I got two emails and a phone call about it...I had to choose a new one but it should be arriving here at our home next week) so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Lord, PLEASE let Jessie's dress come in on time. I am so nervous about that...

Alright, I'm exhausted. Night.
